BellSouth Corporation, 1981-2002

Associate General Counsel–BellSouth Advertising & Publishing, 1995-2002. General responsibility for legal affairs of $2 Billion Dollar publishing company. Managed daily operations of five-lawyer office. Personally responsible for mergers and acquisitions, corporate compliance, major litigation, intellectual property, transactional matters and FCC and state regulatory proceedings. Developed and personally represented BellSouth’s successful Internet directory subsidiary.

General Attorney–BellSouth Corporation, 1994-1995. Responsible for all holding company matters related to publishing entities, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, intellectual property, major litigation, transactional and regulatory matters. Served as General Counsel for commercial real estate subsidiary, developing cellular tower site acquisition program and major office park sale/lease transactions.

General Attorney–BellSouth Enterprises and Advertising & Publishing, 1987-1993. Responsible for all holding company matters related to publishing entities. Handled regulatory matters in domestic and international mergers and acquisitions.
