Biography

Christine MacKay joined Emory Law School as an adjunct facility member in 2012. She received her MBA from Georgia State University and holds a BBA from Queens University of Charlotte. MacKay is a chartered financial analyst and a certified six sigma black belt. Prior to her arrival at Emory Law, Christine worked in the commercial lending industry for twenty-five years. She served as senior vice president and group chief credit officer of Textron Financial Corporation with oversight responsibility for $5 billion in loan assets spanning seven businesses in the United States and Canada. MacKay managed revolving credit and portfolio quality during a period of significant growth from $2.2 billion to more than $5 billion in loans during a four year period. Her experience also encompasses leading the liquidation and closure of Textron Financial Corporation’s $1.2 billion asset-based lending business during the financial market crisis beginning in 2008. Liquidation was completed in 2011 exceeding market analyst expectations. During her commercial lending career, MacKay gained extensive experience in portfolio and risk management, credit policy and procedures, mergers & acquisitions, special assets (liquidation and asset recovery), acquisition integration, due diligence, and process improvement. Her experience also extends to the related legal issues and requirements related to these activities. At Emory Law, MacKay created and teaches the Doing Deals: Accounting in Action course.
