Emory University School of Law |

Several Emory Law alumnae are scheduled speakers for the upcoming conference, “Women in Law: Making Rain, Climbing the Ladder and Forging Your Path.” The half-day seminar, sponsored by the Daily Report, will be held Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 103 West, on West Paces Ferry Road in Atlanta. Emory Law panelists are:

  • Mary Gill 83L, partner, Alston & Bird

  • Leah Ward Sears 80L, Atlanta managing partner and appellate practice leader, Schiff Hardin
  • Louise Wells 74C 78L, managing partner, Morris, Manning & Martin

Gill and Jones are panelists for “Off Ramps, On Ramps, and Slow Lanes,” a discussion of how to recruit and retain female lawyers, and whether flexible scheduling and other workplace alternatives may aid retention.

Sears and Wells are panelists for “Money, Women and Power,” a discussion of the gender gap in large firms, where, the Daily Report says, only 17 percent of equity partners are female.

Attendees are eligible for 2.3 CLE credits.
