Biography

Peter Crofton has worked in the energy and construction arena for over thirty years. Crofton is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, a computer engineering graduate from Auburn University, and wrote commercial software for seven years before attending law school.

Crofton is adjunct professor at the Emory University School of Law, from which Crofton obtained his law degree. Crofton’s Energy Law course focuses on the legal, political, commercial, and environmental factors that have and continue to influence energy production, transmission/transportation, and use domestically and internationally. Crofton has also written and spoken on legal and commercial challenges relating to emerging energy sources such as hydrogen as a transportation fuel.

Crofton is a principal in a renewable energy development company. Crofton is working to finance and construct a waste-to-energy facility using best-in-class technology. The project will help commercialize technologies that will delivery jobs, produce power and cleanly dispose of wastes that are difficult to landfill or recycle.

As a lawyer, Crofton has assisted clients with construction and energy related legal matters since 1990.  He has represented Fortune 100 and other trans-national clients with projects in the United States, Caribbean and Central America, Europe, and Asia. Crofton has assisted with projects covering a wide range of energy sources and technology including oil, gas, LNG, coal, and nuclear. Crofton has also assisted with a wide range of renewable energy projects including wind, solar, biomass, and waste-to-energy.
