Abby Deese is the law librarian for digital initiatives and research service at the Hugh F. MacMillan Law Library. Prior to joining Emory, Deese was a reference librarian, government documents coordinator, and legal research instructor at Elon University School of Law. During her time at Elon, Deese worked with colleagues to develop experiential instruction techniques and innovative online research courses.

Since joining the Emory team, she has relaunched the Business & Tax Law Research course and developed the Mastery of Regulatory Research course. She also administers the law school’s institutional repository, the Emory Law Scholarly Commons. Deese is an alumna of the Law Library Fellowship program at the Cracchiolo Law Library, University of Arizona Rogers College of Law.

In addition to teaching legal research and providing research expertise to Emory faculty and students, Deese serves as an active member of local, regional, and national law library associations.
