If President Donald Trump succeeds in seating a third Supreme Court justice, it would be the most for any president since Richard Nixon, and could create a distinct shift toward conservatism, Professor Robert Schapiro told Newsy. Nixon saw four nominees confirmed during his first term. "Having really a staunch member of the liberal side of the court, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, replaced by a president who [has] a very different perspective ... could really shift the court significantly in a more conservative direction," Schapiro said.
