Monday, April 20, Emory University School of Law will host its second annual Diversity Speaker Series panel discussion. This year’s event will feature General Counsel, North America C. Ben Garren of The Coca-Cola Company; Chief Legal Officer Cathy Hampton of the City of Atlanta; former Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Walmart Stores, Inc. Tom Mars, who is a partner with Taylor English (moderator); and Retired General Counsel and Executive Vice President of General Mills Roderick Palmore.

Discussion topics will include:

• The History of Diversity in the Legal Profession: Where Have We Been and How Do We Make Progress?
• The Role of Corporate and Government Legal Departments in Leading and Advancing Diversity as a Core Value
• What Is the Business Case for Diversity Within Legal Departments?
• Aiming for the Top: Positioning Oneself for Board Positions

The discussion will be held in Tull Auditorium, Gambrell Hall, located at 1301 Clifton Road, Atlanta, GA, 30322. Cocktails will be served at 6:30 p.m. in Hunter Atrium outside the auditorium, and the panel discussion will begin at 7:00 p.m. A dessert reception will follow.
