Honored and energized

As I begin my term as president of the Emory Law Alumni Board, I am both honored and energized by the opportunity to serve a community that has shaped so many of us professionally and personally. My vision is simple but powerful: to foster a spirit of one unified Emory Law family—one that is connected, engaged, and committed to lifting one another up.

A central priority of my presidency is supporting Dean Freer’s “True North” vision for the law school. This strategic direction provides a clear and inspiring framework for Emory Law’s future, and the Alumni Board stands ready to partner in advancing its goals. By aligning our efforts with this vision, we can help ensure that Emory Law continues to thrive as a leader in legal education.

Equally important is celebrating the excellence within our alumni community. We will focus on building a robust pipeline of candidates for the Emory Law Alumni Awards, ensuring that we recognize the full breadth of achievement, leadership, and service across our network. Highlighting these stories not only honors individuals but also strengthens our shared identity.

To deepen connections between generations, we will launch an Alumni-Student Liaison ad hoc committee. This initiative will create meaningful opportunities for mentorship, networking, and collaboration, helping students feel supported while giving alumni a direct way to give back.

Finally, we are committed to improving communication between the Alumni Board and the broader alumni community. By enhancing transparency, increasing engagement, and creating more accessible channels for dialogue, we aim to ensure every alum feels informed, included, and valued.

Together, we will continue to build a stronger, more connected Emory Law family—one that reflects the best of who we are and what we can achieve together.
