Biography

Ted Rogers is an experienced attorney, healthcare risk and compliance professional, educator, health care leader and registered nurse. Ted began his legal career in 2002 as an associate attorney for Harrell and Harrell in Jacksonville, FL.  During his time with Harrell and Harrell, Ted's practice concentrated on medical malpractice litigation.  Additionally, Ted served as State Director of Risk Management and Compliance for Kindred Healthcare for eleven years. During his career with Kindred, Ted managed all aspects of enterprise risk, compliance as well as claims management for nearly 50 hospitals, skilled nursing centers and home health/hospices in four states.

Currently, Ted serves as Associate Chief Nursing Officer at Broughton Hospital, a large state-operated psychiatric facility in Morganton, NC, where he began his nursing career as a staff nurse prior to attending law school. Ted also provides independent comprehensive risk management and compliance consultation and services for health care organizations and is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) by the American Hospital Association.

Additionally, Ted developed and taught online legal, risk and compliance classes for health care providers and health are leaders with Northwest Area Health Education Center at Wake Forest Baptist University in Winston-Salem, NC. He also serves as adjunct faculty for the University of Denver’s Masters in Healthcare Management Program and Western Carolina University Masters in Nursing Leadership Program.
