Biography
Karen Cooper currently serves as lecturer in law, teaching legal writing and advocacy and employment law. Cooper graduated from Duke University, cum laude with distinction in Political Science, in 1993, and graduated from the University of Michigan Law School in 1996. While at Michigan Law, she was Executive Note Editor of the Michigan Journal of International Law and a teaching assistant for the Advanced Legal Research course.
After law school, Cooper practiced in the employment law litigation group at Long, Aldridge, & Norman (now Dentons), focusing on employment law compliance, restrictive covenants, and discrimination in employment. She then became Director of Employment Administration and Special Counsel at TRX, Inc. Cooper taught the first-year legal writing, research, and advocacy class at Emory Law from 2002-2014, before leaving to start her own business.
