Biography

Deena C. M. Wingard currently serves as the Staff Attorney at the Volunteer Clinic for Veterans. She joined Emory Law in 2024 after retiring from 22 years of service at the Department of Veterans Affairs, where she held roles such as Rating Specialist, Decision Review Officer, and Rating Quality Review Specialist.

Deena's diverse legal background includes positions as a legal aid attorney, public defender, and private law firm practitioner. She graduated from Ohio State's Moritz College of Law in 1992 and earned a Master of Divinity from Mercer University's McAfee School of Theology in 2018. Committed to advocating for underrepresented groups, Deena brings her vast experience to the clinic.

Additionally, she is active in ministry, focusing on planning events and ministering to women. Beyond her professional life, Deena cherishes her roles as a wife and mother and enjoys traveling.
