Professor Jonathan Nash, the Robert Howell Hall Chair in Law at Emory's School of Law, has assumed the role of director of the Emory University Center for Law and Social Science. The center (originally the Center for the Study of Law, Politics & Economics) hosts interdisciplinary conferences and speakers, and generally fosters interdisciplinary initiatives between the School of Law and social science departments in Emory College.  

A prolific scholar, Nash is the first director to hail from the school of law.  He received his bachelor of arts degree in mathematics summa cum laude from Columbia University, his juris doctor degree magna cum laude from New York University School of Law, and his master of laws degree from the Harvard Law School.  He has been admitted to candidacy for his PhD in political science from the Laney Graduate School at Emory. Nash is a co-founder of the Society for Environmental Law & Economics and currently serves as co-vice president of the Canadian Law & Economics Association.  He is a regular presenter at the annual meetings of the Midwest Political Science Association, the American Law & Economics Association, the Canadian Law & Economics Association, the Midwestern Law & Economics Association, and the Society of Environmental Law & Economics, and has also presented at the annual meetings of the American Psychology-Law Society, the Law & Economics Theory Conference, the Law & Society Association, the Society for Empirical Legal Studies, and the Southern Economic Association.
