The Emory Bankruptcy Developments Journal (EBDJ) is the nation’s premier student-run bankruptcy journal and the most subscribed-to publication at Emory Law. For more than four decades, we have published cutting edge, practically minded scholarship that does justice to the dynamism and breadth of our field, and we have sent generations of editors into the practice as bankruptcy lawyers.
This year, our work reaches further. After a five-year hiatus, we are reviving the EBDJ symposium, bringing scholars, practitioners, and members of the bench to Emory Law to examine the questions reshaping consumer and corporate bankruptcy practice.

The Emory Bankruptcy Developments Journal is publishing a Special Issue in 2021 focusing on recent developments in bankruptcy law. The issue—entitled the “Developments Issue”—will feature essays from some of the top bankruptcy scholars in the United States. In conjunction with the publication of the Special Issue, the Journal is hosting a workshop for authors to discuss their essays and take questions and comments from workshop attendees and fellow panelists.
