Emory Law | Georgia Bar Swearing-In Ceremony

We are excited to invite you back to campus for the annual Georgia Bar Swearing-In Ceremony & Reception at Emory University School of Law. Continuing our tradition, new Emory lawyers are provided the opportunity to be sworn into all three Georgia courts: Superior Court (required for practice), Court of Appeals, and Supreme Court.
Please review the steps below carefully. If you have any questions, contact your Emory Law Alumni Association contact Alexis Davis-Sapp.
Step One:
Register for the ceremony. Check the appropriate boxes for the courts you will swear into.
Step Two:
Submit your documentation. All original documentation must be delivered in person to Emory University School of Law, Gambrell Hall by Sunday, October 27, 2024.
Please understand, we cannot make any exceptions to this deadline due to the court’s established processing timeline. We also cannot accept mailed or couriered documents.
A drop box is located directly across from the Welcome Center on the first floor of the law school. The drop box is labeled “Emory Law Alumni Association”. Please take a photo or scan a copy of ALL documentation before leaving it in the drop box.
Superior Court
- The original copy of your Certificate of Eligibility provided by the State Bar of Georgia is the only requirement to take the Attorney’s Oath and be sworn into the Superior Court.
Please note: this document will be kept by the court office. If you would like a copy for your records, we suggest making a photocopy or taking a photo of the document.
Court of Appeals
Complete printed copy of the Remote and Expedited Admission Application.
- The text box for your bar number should be left blank UNLESS you have already been admitted.
- Date Admitted to State Bar is November 14, 2024
- Your attorney sponsors are:
- Emily Bramer, Bar Number 075770
- Paul Koster, Bar Number: 428588
- You must physically sign your application. Digital signatures will render the application void.
Supreme Court
Complete printed copy the Application for Admission.
- The text box for your bar number should be left blank UNLESS you have already been admitted.
- Date Admitted to State Bar is November 14, 2024, UNLESS you have already been admitted.
- Requested Admission Date is November 14, 2024.
- Your attorney sponsors are:

- You must physically sign your application. Digital signatures will render the application void.
Step Three:
Complete your payments. Each court has a $30 application fee. Use the links below to make your payment. No payments will be accepted after Sunday, October 27, 2024.
- For Admission Type, select “11/14/24 Emory Mass Admission”
- For State Bar Number, type your name
- For Admission Ceremony, choose "11/14/2024 - Emory University"
- Payment submissions will be available on Friday, October 11, 2024
Step Four:
