Biography
Al Hill is a corporate partner with the Atlanta law firm of Taylor English Duma LLP. He is a veteran business lawyer who has represented large and small companies for more than 25 years. His clients include manufacturers, technology developers and marketers, professional and technical service companies, retailers, wholesale distributors, and others. As a business lawyer, he provides advice on a wide range of operational, financial, and governance issues, including board of directors’ duties, mergers and acquisitions, lending, antitrust (including resale price maintenance), and other compliance issues. He is frequently consulted in shareholder disputes, both public and private. He also frequently assists clients in raising equity capital from private equity and venture capital firms, and debt from asset-based and cash flow lenders.
During his career as an attorney, Hill has developed expertise in a variety of roles within law firms and corporations. He began his career with the Atlanta firm of Powell, Goldstein, Frazer & Murphy LLP, where he advised technology-based clients in general corporate and mergers and acquisitions matters. He then spent seven years with the former National Service Industries Inc. (now known as Acuity Brands Inc.), a NYSE-listed industrial conglomerate, serving as senior assistant counsel and as director of mergers and acquisitions. After leading a leveraged buyout in the industrial chemical industry,Hill joined Taylor English in 2006. He became chief operating officer in 2009 and led the firm as itschief executive officerduring a dramatic growth period from 2010-2014. He lives in Atlanta with his wife, Pam, and three children.
