Admission Requirements
To be considered for admission into Emory Law’s MLS Program, candidates must have received at least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university by the time of enrollment. No GRE, LSAT, or other test scores are required.

Completed application
It takes less than 10 minutes to start an application for our program, and your progress is automatically saved, allowing you to take your time and come back to the application when you are ready.
Application fee
While Emory Law doesn’t charge an application fee to Master of Legal Studies applicants, the Law School Admission Council platform charges service fees to use their platform. Learn more about the fees on the LSAC website.
Undergraduate transcripts
Admitted students will need to provide official transcripts with their application for admission. Official transcripts can be submitted electronically through LSAC. When sending an electronic transcript, please note that only electronic transcripts sent from the transferable institution via a secure means (e.g., Scrip-Safe, NSC) will be accepted.

Resume or curriculum vitae (CV)
Emory Law requires the submission of a resume, preferably one to two pages in length. The resume does not need to be limited to experiences related to the legal profession, as MLS applicants come from a wide range of educational and professional backgrounds. It should detail your most significant accomplishments, work experience, leadership roles, and community service.
Two letters of recommendation
Emory Law requires two letters of recommendation, preferably submitted through the LSAC letter of recommendation service that serves all member schools. This service is included in your CAS registration subscription.
Your letters of recommendation should come from professors or other people who are familiar with your performance in an academic setting and can tell us about your research and writing skills. If you have been out of school for a while, try to find recommenders who can attest to your scholarly abilities and your writing and organizational skills.
Personal statement
The personal statement gives the admission committee the chance to evaluate your writing and learn more about you and your educational and professional goals. Use the statement to explain why you’re interested in earning your MLS degree, what your professional goals are, and why you’ve chosen Emory Law to continue your education.
Interview
All applicants will complete an evaluative interview as part of the admission process. Once you’ve completed your application, you will receive a link to schedule an interview at the time and date that is most convenient for you. The 30-minute interview is typically remote, but can be done in person.
Decision
We encourage you to submit all materials well before the deadline if possible. We will process your application after submission, but applications are only considered complete when all required materials are received. Once you’ve submitted, you can expect to receive a decision in about 14 business days.
