Holbrook discusses same-sex marriage issues at July 10 event

Emory University School of Law |

Emory Law Associate Dean and Professor Timothy Holbrook is one of three invited panelists for an upcoming discussion of "The Supreme Court's Marriage Cases: What Do We Do Now?"

The event is sponsored by the Stonewall Bar Association of Georgia and Schiff Hardin LLP, to be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, at The Conference Center at One Atlantic Center, 1201 West Peachtree St. NW in Atlanta.

Holbrook will join panelists Susan Von Herrman of Schiff Hardin LLP and Beth Littrell of Lambda Legal in examining the U.S. Supreme Court's recent decisions in United States v. Windsor and Hollingsworth v. Perry.

Holbrook submitted an amici curiae brief in the Hollingsworth case, on behalf of NFL players Chris Kluwe of the Minnesota Vikings and Brendon Ayanbadejo of the Baltimore Ravens, earlier this year.

Von Herrmann is an expert on same-sex couple estate planning and Littrell has more than a decade's experience working on LGBT legal issues for national civil rights organizations.

Information on CLE credit is forthcoming. The event is free and public.
