Chitlik 12LJo DeLaGarza-Chitlik 12L has received her second Fulbright Specialist Award to create a new opportunity for aspiring women lawyers in Pakistan. It is an Alternate Dispute Resolution pilot program at Fatima Jinnah Women University Rawalpindi. Chitlik said she was privileged to work with colleagues from Emory Law: Alexa Windsor 21L 22L 25L and Eriq Tshhims 23L, "in creating the first of its kind program for female law students in Pakistan." Read more.

Boston 99LAt the May 4, 2024, Georgia Association of Women Lawyers Sneaker Ball, DeKalb County District Attorney Sherry Boston received GAWL’s Leading Lady Award. Whaley 91L, Standing Chapter 12 and 13 Trustee for the Northern District of Georgia, was appointed by US Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts to the Advisory Committee on Bankruptcy Rules effective October 1, 2023. She will serve a three-year term and has been appointed to the Consumer Subcommittee and Forms Subcommittee.

Proctor 15LShannon N. Proctor 15L has been promoted to partner at DC-based litigation firm Hollingsworth LLP. She brings more than a decade’s experience in the pharmaceutical industry to her practice defending Fortune 500 companies in pharmaceutical products liability/personal injury litigation in both federal and state courts across the country. She leads the Women Attorneys of Hollingsworth community group and the firm’s Making Justice Real campaign to support Legal Aid DC.

She was among the first attorneys in the nation to begin working with Opportunity Zone funds and deals in 2017, when Congress created the program to spur economic progress in designated low-income areas. “The institute will help make plea bargaining research findings and case developments widely available to those in the field, while simultaneously creating a space for dialogue and collaboration to assist in identifying new areas of research and inquiry to help propel reform efforts,” Dervan writes.
